BetMGM Officially Launched in the UK
BetMGM has officially launched its platform in the United Kingdom. The brand, which is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain in the United States, was only available in the United States and Canada and has now expanded its reach to Europe. BetMGM will use the technology and platform of LeoVegas, which has been owned by MGM Resorts since last year.
The launch of BetMGM in Europe has been done without the participation of Entain. BetMGM will offer both sports betting and (live) casino games in the UK. For British players there will be new sports promotions and different exclusive online pokies to play. The online casino will also award loyalty rewards to the most loyal players.

New Market After US and Canada
The licenced online casino will only be accessible via desktop or mobile website for the time being, the company says in the press release, although there are plans to release a mobile app during the official national launch in mid-September. The gambling platform will run on the LeoVegas platform, owned by MGM Resorts International. MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle is pleased with BetMGM’s expansion into the UK:
“BetMGM is a proven brand in sports betting and iGaming and we look forward to welcoming international players to our platforms designed specifically for them. Today’s announcement is an important step forward in our international growth strategy, which has evolved rapidly since the acquisition of LeoVegas.”

“Bright Future for UK Activities”
Gary Frtiz, president of MGM Resorts International Interactive, also foresees a bright future for the gambling company in the United Kingdom:
“We have had great success in the United States and Canada with our BetMGM brand and we are confident we can replicate this success in other markets, starting with the United Kingdom. The UK is a mature online gaming market and we believe the BetMGM brand will have clear relevance to both sports bettors and iGaming consumers.”
BetMGM will also continue to offer its services in the United States and Canada, the press release continues whilst it wants to move into other markets around the world as well. The website of BetMGM is not yet available in New Zealand. The name of MGM Resorts has also repeatedly been mentioned as a possible candidate to take over the international operator Kindred Group. Kindred is the main company behind the Unibet brand and has been under fire in recent months. The site is available for players from both New Zealand and Australia with a dedicated website for Oceania including local casino NZ bonuses.
