Russell Crowe stars in the new thriller Poker Face. The film has a poker twist and will be first released in the United States on November 16, 2022. Poker Face is coming to cinemas in New Zealand on the 1st of December 2022.聽
It has not yet been announced whether the film will be available for streaming. In addition to a lead role for actor and director Russell Crowe, there is also an important role in Poker Game for Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth. In the film, a tech billionaire organises a high-stakes cash game at his plush estate, but the night takes a different turn when thieves break into his house.

High Stake Private Poker Tournament
Poker Face is a 2-hour thriller in which the main character, Jake Foley, invites his friends to his mansion for a high-stakes poker game. Jake is a tech billionaire, played by Crowe himself and also happens to be a very skilled poker player. The wealthy gambler has a love-hate relationship with his childhood friends and comes up with a revenge plot at the night of the event. Jake鈥檚 plans take a completely different turn when a dangerous thief raids his mansion during the poker event and long-held secrets are revealed. With the thieves in the house, they must bundle their forces to survive the night.

Poker Game鈥檚 Cast
The protagonist of the movie is Russell Crowe, who is also the director of the film. The 58-year-old Wellington born actor started his career in Oz with Romper Stomper (1992) and eventually made it to Hollywood playing roles in L.A. Confidential (1997) and Gladiator (2000). Crowe won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the latter film. Spanish actress Elsa Pataky also stars in the film, having previously starred in films such as Fast & Furious 5 and 6, Snakes on a Plane, and Interceptor.

Liam Hemsworth, brother of Aussie actors Chris and Luuk, is one of Jake鈥檚 childhood friends in the new poker movie. Liam is best known for his role in The Hunger Games films. In real life, Elsa Pataky is married to Liam’s older brother, Chris. Poker Game also brings a familiar face from the real life poker world to the film: Lynn Gilmartin. Gilmartin was inducted into the Australian Poker Hall of Fame in 2020. As a tv-host, she has been the face of the World Poker Tour for many years.
