Ex-OnAir Executive Reveals Playtech Live Spying
The product team of live casino provider OnAir Entertainment had illegal access to the internal systems of competitor Playtech Live and used that data for their own product development. The claim was made by Ivans Ivanovs, who worked for OnAir Entertainment in Latvia as a Senior Product Owner until July 2023. According to Ivanovs, the ex-Playtech employee granted access to the data to OnAir Entertainment鈥檚 product team.
Igors Veliks, who worked for Playtech before making the switch to OnAir Entertainment, was still able to access his ex-employer’s internal systems two years after his departure. As a result, he had access to real-time information about the product development process and upcoming releases, as well as data on new mechanisms and features.

Real-Time Access To Upcoming Game Releases
The international iGaming news platform Next.io investigated the claims and received confirmation of Ivanov’s story from another ex-employee at OnAir who wished to remain anonymous. During his time at OnAir, this anonymous employee confirmed to also have access to data and audiovisual content that was retrieved from Playtech’s internal systems by Veliks, Next.io said.
Igors Veliks retained access after terminating his employment with Playtech Live Latvia which he used on a daily basis to spy on Playtech’s production equipment. This practice, having access to a competitor’s restricted internal systems, is most likely illegal. OnAir had inside and real-time knowledge about upcoming games, features, design and technologies 1-6 months in advance. Veliks also had access to the roadmap, target markets, exclusive deals and branded games.

Serious Concerns About Latest OnAir Game Releases
The whistleblower states that questions should be raised about OnAir’s latest games. As an example of games that should raise concerns, Ivanovs refers to the yet-to-be-launched Diamond Rush Roulette, which was developed by Veliks. In recent years, Veliks was also responsible for the development of Mega Fire Blaze Roulette for Playtech.
In his role as the head of the game portfolio, Igors has been involved in overseeing all OnAir game titles from Classic Blackjack to Roulette. This raises concerns about the integrity of both recent games, as well as the possibility of copyright infringement by OnAir if they have used unlawfully acquired data from Playtech.

He concludes the message by claiming that OnAir would probably have “got away with the illegal practices unnoticed if it had not been for the meddling kid.” His LinkedIn post has generated merely positive reactions. Colleagues and peers encourage Ivanov’s claims and advocate fair competition. Playtech and OnAir Entertainment have both not yet responded to Ivanov’s claims.
