Evolution Acquires Streaming Game Provider Livespins

Evolution has reached an agreement to acquire Livespins, a platform where players bet behind live streamers. Evolution announced that it will pay €5 million (8,81m NZ$) in cash for this acquisition. In addition, Livespins can earn an earn-out based on its performance in 2026. Evolution expects to close the transaction in Q2 of 2024.

With the acquisition of Livespins by Evolution Gaming, the game provider can strengthen its portfolio by adding a social category of live entertainment with a new way of playing. Livespins announced this through a press release on its website. For now, Evolution is paying a basic amount of $8,81 million in cash for acquiring Livespins. This amount can increase via an earn-out, which is based on the performance of Livespins in 2026.

“New Way Of Playing”

Established in 2021, Livespins is an innovative platform that is implemented to a gambling site’s casino lobby via API. This integration gives players the chance to place a bet to team up and “bet behind” the streamer for a chance to win together. If the streamer wins, the players that make the bet win too, in what is referred to as an “exciting shared experience”. Both Evolution and Livespins are delighted with the deal:

This is an unprecedented milestone for our company and we couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Evolution Group. We are still in the start-up phase of our business and getting Evolution’s attention at this stage is incredibly rewarding. We believe that this is the outcome of all the hard work our team has put into this concept since we launched it. We always believed that our product would revolutionise the industry.

Chris Scicluna, CEO of Livespins

Martin Carlesund, CEO of Evolution, said the following about the deal with LiveSpins:

Livespins is a unique provider that has shown solid engagement numbers and player adoption and we believe they will be a great addition to the Evolution portfolio. Over the years we have built a reputation for identifying new and interesting technology and that is why I am pleased that we have reached an agreement with Livespins.

About Livespins

Livespins is an innovative B2B gaming provider that focuses on the niche of live entertainment, following a rather different approach by allowing gambling operators companies to let players “bet” behind their favourite streamers, influencers or brand ambassadors. This gives punters the chance to join in the excitement instead of passively watching a stream. This creates an interactive, social betting experience with virtually multiple players participating in the same spin. When the streamer wins, the players win too. Through the acquisition by Evolution, Livespins will strengthen its position in the casino industry. Livespin believes that the overall player experience will improve even more as the Evolution games are now available as well on the Livespins platform.

About Evolution

Evolution is a Swedish live dealer casino software provider and the pioneer in the live casino industry. Thanks to live streams, players at home can virtually join real tables where a live dealer hosts the game instead of working with computer-controlled systems. Initially, Evolution focussed on the creation of live versions of table games, but in recent years this focus has moved towards game shows as well. These are interactive games that have a high entertainment value and are guided by a host rather than a dealer. The popular live games of Evolution are also available at online casinos that target players from New Zealand. In order to play the live dealer games it is recommended that you learn the rules of the game before moving on to real money bets. Some of Evolution’s most popular recent releases are Crazy Time, Funky Time, and Crazy Pachinko.
